Overview

 

Silk Road is an ancient network routes which linked east and west for commerce purposes and was a center for cultural, political and religious interactions which passed through many different empires and territories like China, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Iran, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Armenia. It is called Silk Road as it was the way for transporting and trading silks produced by China. Silk road dates back to 1700 years ago. Iran Silk road went through the northern part of Iran and passed cities such as Merv, Sarakhs, Nishapur, Gorgan, Baam, Safiabad, Ray, Qazvin, Zanjan and north of Hamadan.

There are many travelers who like to travel to Iran and explore Iran destinations specially via silk road in a cultural tour Iran. This tour enables you to visit Iran from north east to south, travelling through Tehran, Semnan, Damghan, Shahrood, Bastam, sabzevar, Nishapur, Mashhad, Shiraz, Yazd, Isfahan, Kashan in 17 days; a combination of sightseeing in historical ancient major cities and old villages; an Iran adventure trip to prehistorical sites of Iran plateau, ancient Empire of Persia and experiencing one-day wild life in KharTouran one of the most beautiful and wilderness Iran national parks. You will visit the mausoleums of eastern philosophers and the holy shrine of Imam Reza, the eight Shi’ite Imam; so it is possible to know more about Islamic ideas as well as Islamic mysticism. It is a moderate tour in terms of level of difficulty so everyone with a normal physical fitness can join this tour.

 

Brief Itinerary

Day 1: Upon arrival in Tehran International airport (IKA), our representative will receive you at the airport of Tehran and transfer you to your Hotel in Tehran. (-)

 

Day 2: A walking city tour to visit National museum and Golestan Palace which both are registered in UNESCO World Heritage Site and Grand Bazar. Transfer to Carpet museum. Overnight at the hotel in Tehran. (B, L)

 

Day 3: Check out the hotel, hit the road towards Damghan; passing through Semnan to visit Arg gate, the northern gate dating back to Qajar dynasty; the Bazar of Semnan, an old construction date back to 180 years ago. Then drive to Damghan to visit Cheshmeh Ali, Tarikhaneh Temple, Jameh Mosque, Pir Alamdar, Tepe Hissar (Tappeh Hissar) the important ancient hills of Iran plateau. We will have packet lunch, then drive to Burj-i Mehmandust. Overnight stay in a hotel in Damghan. (B, L, D)

 

Day 4: Check out the hotel and hit the road towards Beyarjomand, visit some important highlights in Shahrood and Bastam; visit Miandasht Caravanserais, then continue to Bastam visiting tomb of Bayazid Bastami, afterwards visiting Kashaneh Tower; then continue to Beyarjomand, Ghale bala. Overnight stay in a local house. (B, L, D)

 

Day 5: A full adventure day through KharTouran National Park or Touran Wildlife Refuge; the second largest reserve in Iran which is situated in Semnan Province. Overnight stay in a local house in Qale Bala. (B, L, D)

 

Day 6: Go to Sabzevar for a city tour by visiting Boghrat Tomb, Mausoleum of Boghrat; the mausoleums of Hakim Haj Molla Hadi Sabzevari (Asrar tomb) and Amin-o-Tojar Mashhadi, Haj Faramarz Khan’s caravansary and Haj Karim water reservoir; continue traveling to Nishapur to visit mausoleum of Omar Khayyam, mausoleum of Attar, the tomb of Kamal-Ol-Molk, the great Persian painter. Overnight stay in Nishabur. (B, L, D)

 

Day 7: Drive to Mashahad, visiting Imam Reza holy Shrine, the tomb of Ferdowsi, go to tomb of Imam Mohammad Qazali. Having lunch in a local restaurant. Continue to visit Nadershah Afshar’s tomb. Overnight stay in a Hotel in Mashhad. (B, L)

 

Day 8: Check out the hotel, drive to airport for departure flight to Shiraz. Upon arrival to Shiraz, the driver will meet you at the airport to transfer you to your hotel. Overnight stay in a hotel in Shiraz. (B)

 

Day 9: Full day city tour of Shiraz, visiting the most highlights such as Nasir-Ol- Molk mosque, Atigh Jame mosque the oldest and the first mosque in Shiraz, Vakil Mosque & bazar and Karimkhan citadel, tomb of Sa’di, Hafez mausoleum and Eram garden. Overnight stay at the hotel (B, L)

 

Day 10: A full day tour through ancient Persia by visiting Persepolis, Naghshe Rostam, Naghshe Rajab and Pasargadae. Overnight stay in a local house. (B, L, D)

 

Day 11: Driving towards Yazd. On our way, we will visit Eqlid, a gate between the high mountains and the desert and the gateway to Persepolis, the Empire of ancient Persia. (B, L, D)

 

Day 12: A stroll through the city, visiting Tower of Silence and the Zoroastrian Fire Temple, Amir Chakhmaq Complex, Qanat, Dolat Abad Garden and Jame Mosque of Yazd. (B, L)

 

Day 13: Travelling to the ancient town of Kuhpayeh (80km far from Yazd), on the way visiting Chak Chak,; the ancient city of Meybod including Abbasi Caravanserai, visiting Narin Castle; then continue our way towards Nain and visit the Jameh Mosque of Nain. Late afternoon gets to Kuhpayeh. Overnight stay in Kuhpa Caravanserai. (B, L, D)

 

Day 14: Drive to Isfahan. A stroll city tour in Isfahan for visiting Naghshe Jahan Square, UNESCO’s World Heritage Site with its magnificent surroundings. Spending some times in Isfahan grand Bazar, having lunch at a local restaurant.  Then visiting Chehel Sotoun and Hasht Behesht Palaces.  Visiting Si-o-se-pol and Khaju bridges in the evening. Late afternoon back to the hotel. Overnight stay in the hotel.  (B, L)

 

Day 15: Check out the hotel and go for a half day city tour in Isfahan to visit Vank cathedral and Atigh Jameh mosque, the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Then travel to the historical city of Kashan. Overnight stay in a traditional style hotel in Kashan. (B, L, D)

 

Day 16: Starting Kashan city tour after breakfast; Visiting historical houses of Tabatabaeis and Borujerdis, the significant ancient site of Sialk hills and going to the historical Fin Garden. Overnight at the hotel in Kashan. (B, L, D)

 

Day 17: Morning time is at your leisure.  According to your flight schedule, you will be transferred to IKA airport to take your flight back home. (B)
