Iran known as Persia in antiquity is home to one of the world’s oldest civilizations. Iran is a marvelous destination for adventurers who seek diverse adventure trips and travelers who are interested in the ancient history of Iran as Iran consists of exclusive nature reserves including a variety of flora and fauna, several deserts, high altitude mountains, and rich forests ringed by mountain ranges. Iran comprising a land area of 1,648,195 Km2, Geographically is located in the intersection of desert and mountains strips.
The largest deserts in the northern hemisphere which starts from Atlantic Ocean and stretches to China, which consists of African Sahara, Arabian Desert, Kavir lute in Iran, Gobi Desert and Thar, Indian great desert.
One of the most famous and important mountainous strips with high peaks starts from west Europe to the East bypassing from Iran, Pakistan, Nepal, Tibet, India and ends in China; including Pyrenees, Alpine, Caucasian, Iran plateau, Karakoram, and the Himalayas; of course, not to forget Damavand Mount at an elevation of 5609.2 m as the highest mountain in Iran and the highest volcano in Asia.
Crossing of these two strips causes a lot of varieties of flora and fauna. About 8000 kinds of Flora have been realized in Iran which 2300 kinds have medical, aromatic, dietary, and cosmetic properties. Specifically, 1728 kinds are indigenous to Iran. one-tenth of Iran is forested dominating by oak, cypress, beech, linden, elm, walnut, ash, and hornbeam. Iran wildlife includes species diversity such as leopards, Eurasian lynx, brown bears, Asian black bears, striped hyenas, wild boars, red deers, ibex, goitered gazelles, and American mouflons, which all inhabit the wooded mountains. Golden Jackals and rabbits are common in the country’s interior. Wild asses live in the kavīrs. Asiatic Cheetahs and pheasants are found in the Caspian region, and partridges live in most parts of the country.
